The team

  • Lova

OWNER • YOGI • DIVEMASTER | With positivity overload you can’t miss the hostess. She is the first one you’ll be in touch with - she genuinely loves to connect with people. A former financial manager she changed from office to tropics and has let yoga, scuba diving, laidback lifestyle and her interests become her everyday life. Lova gets ridiculously excited for every new flower bud, aha-experiences with yoga students or a turtle-sighting. As she is Swedish, she might blurt out a weird expression in made-up-English. So don’t worry if she babbles on, leaving you quizzical.

  • Lee

OWNER • DIVING INSTRUCTOR | The most passionate diving instructor you will find (no, not subjective at all!) who will make you discover the ocean, its’ inhabitants, and your inner diver. After travelling the world and then schooling to commercial diver (inspecting container ships, bridges, and generally dark holes in Gothenburg) Lee has finally found his spot with unexplored diving here in SL. This Northeast England village boy has also designed and project managed OceanEye from start and we think he has done a pretty good job. To find Lee, look for the pool, the closest water tap or the ocean.

  • Troja

BUBBLE OF JOY | Our little Troja is an energetic cutie who has become a tech geek with Minecraft. Thankfully, she also takes after her dad being a water baby and she is only 2 ocean dives away from her junior Open Water Diver certificate.Troja is a truly caring, loving girl with bucket loads of curiosity and a strong sense of fairness. Ask for her general knowledge quiz and be prepared to be amazed. And lose.

  • Gambit

SOCIAL HOST | An exhausted, sick puppy with a broken, infected leg has become a strong and very much-loved family member. No matter that one leg is shorter than the other, see her race down the path in lightning speed to check out a monitor lizard or cheeky monkeys. Since being small, Gambit has had a thing for flies and buffalo curd. Not necessarily together. Pumpkin curry and mango will do as well.

  • a.h.s.d. Susantha

DIVEMASTER | The owner of Ruhunu Diving Center and part of the OceanEye family since 2019. This ex-navy has experienced the most horrific things during his career. We finally cracked how to make him smile and often you will now see that spark in his eyes and a sneaky smile spreading on his face. Susantha, a tough cookie, also possesses a large portion of drive and dedication, learning English and running his dive center. He has gone from navy diver to happy diver, regularly guiding in the waters of south coast Sri Lanka.

  • Skip

FURRY HOST | Skip is our second street dog and has gone from tiny, fluffy puppy to big, social, hungry goof ball. One rainy day someone dumped her outside our gate. We adopted her and she is quickly learning the ways of life from Gambit. Maybe she relied so much on Gambit that she stopped thinking herself cause she has become a bit daft lately. Anyway, we love her to bits and she will be the one following you around on the property. You will find her trying to sleep on… you.

  • Saman

GARDENER | A hardworking, reliable man from a small village who has a great work ethic and always shows up for work. Saman is responsible for our garden. He has done some mason work here and is always ready to help with odd jobs aroudn the property. He might be a shy and quiet person, but he has quickly become a part of the foundation of OceanEye.

  • Diana

HOUSEKEEPING | Being a mother of four is not an easy job in Sri Lanka, but that hasn’t stopped Diana from taking on a new challenge. She is now our cleaning superstar. Diana came to OceanEye with no experience, but she has guts, will and a lot of drive to learn the job. As she is learning English, please talk to her slowly and you will see her light up!

  • Anais

CURLY GLOBETROTTER | Our daughter who first spread her travelling wings in Sri Lanka. She did venture into the kitchen a few times but let’s just say that noodles with pineapple is not great. This surf and dive rookie is exploring the globe, something we couldn’t encourage more, but if your’re lucky you will see her here from time to time.
