Find us

OceanEye is located in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, close to the towns Tangalle and Dikwella. You’ll find us 3 km outside of Beliatta in a village called Palapotha. The locals know our land as Siyambalagahawatta (“Tamarind tree land”) or Kalu gedara (“The black house”).

CAR This is the easiest and most convenient way to get here. The drive is 2,5-3 hours from Bandaranaike International Airport on the Southern Expressway. There is a nice service station on the way, where you can stop for food/drinks/bathrooms. The highway exit is Beliatta. From the highway drive 10 minutes to OceanEye. Let us know if you need help booking a driver to/from the airport!

BUS Take a PickMe*** to the bus station Makumbura. Continue on a highway bus to Tangalle. It is a direct bus and leaves once full. Normally takes 2,5-3 hours, price per person 1.200-1.500rs. Take a tuktuk from Tangalle to OceanEye (around 6 km, follow Google maps).

TRAIN Take a PickMe*** to Colombo Fort Railway Station. Continue on a train to end station Beliatha. Trip takes around 4 hours, ticket price depending on class 350-1.500rs/person. Take a tuktuk from Beliatha station to OceanEye (around 3 km, follow Google maps). Train time table: https://eservices.railway.gov.lk/schedule/

SEAPLANE You can take a seaplane in Colombo and fly to Mawella Lagoon in 45 minutes. For more information, please visit cinnamonair.com. From Mawella take a 10 minutes tuk-tuk to OceanEye.
